I take Ginkgo Biloba supplements - had no idea it was a tree!

Yeah, I have two of them in my yard. They have fan-like leaves. Unfortunately mine are past the golden leaf stage!

Fun fact: the tree is either male or female, unlike most trees which have both 'parts.' The female trees have putrid smelling fruits.

I'll bet it looks incredible with the sun behind it! The neighbors across my back yard had a pair of maples that turned a similar color and the sun coming through the leaves was amazing.

Gosh, yes. We had a few in my old neighborhood.

My dog decided one day that they made great treats, and gorged on them. She was sick for the next 3 days, throwing up all over the place.

Beautiful tree. The leaves stand for friendship if i am not mistaken. Classical german author Goethe wrote about it. A lot of those trees at Weimar, where Goethe lived.

This is my favorite color of yellow! I know of a few streets that have a ton of ginkgoes and when they lose their leaves the whole street looks like it’s made of gold and it’s so beautiful.

The fruit does indeed smell like vomit.

Source: botany professor, when we went on a walking trip around town to look at plants “in the wild”, and he picked up a couple and made us smell them to confirm.
