The station was very much open; I took the picture while filling up there. As for the math, I’m comparing the credit prices ($4.60-$3.78). Call it 72¢ if you pay cash, but it’s still a massive difference.

I had to zoom in on the sign, I've never seen a gas station that has a different price for cash in my life. Is that common in certain places?

Very common. They save money on the processing fee for credit cards.

I’ve seen it in a few stations near where I live.

I’d say a significant minority do it around here. I guess it’s an effective, though somewhat dishonest, marketing tactic—they can advertise the lower price, but most customers will end up paying the credit price.

I travel all over the Eastern United States and I'd say it's about one in four or one in five stations.
I try to avoid buying gas at these stations on general principle

I live on the west coast and I only ever see them with cash and credit prices

Prices for gas are entirely manufactured. Supply is manipulated to take advantage of "Crisis" situations. We need more alternate power solutions so we aren't held hostage like that.

In this I agree- and bought an Electric Vehicle. No more gas stations for me. Side bar; contrary to 'what everyone knows" my EV has not caught fire, can be charged{where I live} with ease, or at home, and needs next to ZERO in maintenance. For the anti EV crowd, spare me the talking points of the anti- EV bought and paid for, 'news stories'. Neither I nor the entire European continent will believe you.

Around my town, I think the prices might reflect whatever the station paid for their previous delivery. Once they refill their underground tanks at a lower price, perhaps then their posted price can change. Those stations which have the lowest traffic seem to take the longest to reflect price drops. Disclaimer: I have no idea what I'm talking about

Looks like a closed station that still has old prices up on the sign.
Also, your math needs some checking...
