If anyone is interested, there is a total of 101 frogs in the set, the most of any Lego set!

Is it an official Lego set ? I’ve never seen anything like it, the fact that the ground is made of unfixated pieces is unsettling

It is official! The tree is attached to the base firmly. To create the appearance of gravel, the set has you pour 90 loose pieces all around the base of the tree.

I hope you don't have a cat, LOL!

I think he's referring to the small black pot on top of the brown wooden base. As a reference, the corners of the pot have sideways rubber tires on the bottom, that actually give it quite a lot of grip

Yea.

Lego has had a line of botanical plant builds aimed at adults for quite some time now.
Given that the line is expanding, I'd think it's doing quite well.

why?

It’s what I love about legos. They could have made a new, unique part that looks like cherry blossoms. Instead they used a part they already had that somehow works perfectly

This is my favourite part about Lego too! My boyfriend has the succulent set and one of the plants is made from little pistols.

I just finished this set today. The egg-shaped light green pieces on one of them are dinosaur eggs from another set.

i have the same one and i was digging through the pieces when building a different plant and was so confused as to why there were guns

You hit the nail on the head. I have this same set. Every time I see a particular part repurposed in a creative way it makes me so happy. Btw, I recommend their succulent set to go with this guy. That was a fun build too.

Its cheaper for them and the point from op

Bugsyboy369 t1_j2aj2hm wrote

Technically it's kind of cheaper, as this is the first set that has used frogs in the pink-ish purple color seen here, reusing the mold, but in a new color

spnnari t1_j29qd3x wrote

It's a nice detail.

I've kept my bonsai green, but I have the frogs somewhere if I want to change it to pink.

crimony70 t1_j2bcc7n wrote

Mine goes pink during spring, green for the rest of the year.

That's September to November for me in Australia.

It's quite easy to swap, there are branch structures for both configurations so it's really just swapping 3 large sections plus one small one on top.

spnnari t1_j2crtyw wrote

I'm going to think about changing it to pink for spring. Luckily I have few months to look for the frogs and build them as spring starts in March (Finland).

I got the NASA Space Shuttle Discovery for Christmas. It came with the Hubble telescope, and the Hubble had yellow caps on each side. What held those caps in were little faucets used in Lego houses. Yes, like sink faucets.

I know, right? I wish the Saturn V wasn't unavailable. The space ships are totally awesome

Your post inspired me to hunt down, buy and build this set. Thanks!

I remember seeing the set and was curious about it, but to be honest the normal green version wasn't doing it for me. Never noticed it had this Sakura blossom mode as well included in the set and the little frog "petals" look so good.

Love it. Maybe I'll switch back and forth seasonally.
