This copperhead is essentially ready for harvest, already harvested the purples the other day and they were sooooo delicious! Probably one of the most interesting Christmas gifts I've received.

Can’t quite read the label - can you share the company?

Not a company, home grown by my brother. Containers are just old ice cream tubs my dad had saved up which my brother sterilized and used.

I watched a video on mushroom farming a few months ago. Its much more intensive than I thought.

Yes, there's a LOT to it, for sure. This was my brothers first ever attempt and it turned out very very well. He also has a biology degree though, so I'm sure that made the learning curve a good bit easier for him.

From what I gather there's a lot of work to make sure there isn't cross contamination with other fungi.

When you harvest does it regrow eventually or is it a one and done thing.

YES! They regrow, my brother is guessing that I should get 2-3 harvests. We'll see what happens, but the first harvest is complete.

And how much do you really trust your brother?...

Now graduate to your own equipment. You can really get creative and do so much with mushroom cultivation. I started with cubensis and got really good at it, but I just can't do it anymore where I live but I'm about to build up my arsenal again and go for some legal species. It's such a rewarding hobby.
