Why is this posted so long after it's release? Anyways I thought this was an incredible film, easy top 5 film of 2022 for me.

Just such a pleasant film from start to finish, beautifully rendered childhood summer. That last shot was perfect and heart-breaking.

For anyone who loved this movie and hasn't read its source, do yourself a favor and read Foster by Claire Keegan. It's an incredible story!

I just saw this today and I adored it. I was weeping by the end. It's so gentle and warm and moving and evocative and soft. I love how the entire film is shot from Cáit's perspective. We only see what she sees. So lovely!

Really beautiful film. Really hope it wins the Oscar and really hope that more prestige Irish language movies follow.

Also, Claire Keegan, who wrote the story "Foster" that this is adapted from, is one of Ireland's absolute best contemporary writers. Her latest book, "Small Things Like These" deals with the mother and baby homes in Ireland and is just absolutely stunning.

Ending had me in tears. What a gorgeous, well-made film.

Been loving these super focused character portraits in this year’s foreign language film class. I got some big Aftersun vibes from this too — both films culminating in really emotionally explosive climaxes that define the entire experience.

Also got reminded of Minari with all the running (towards love)!

Loved it. Beautifully understated film. Reminds me of Celine Sciamma's Petite Maman in a way

What a Great Film!

It's a beautiful character study about summer childhood and bond ship between people with strong writing, beautiful camerawork, beautiful colors, and gorgeous soundtrack. The performances from the cast members were fantastic and the child acting was brilliant. Every performance helped to create the characters to feel nature and realistic in their settings. The story is simple but it's execution was well-made due to the direction's style, pacing, and theme explored. It's one of the best films of 2022 and it deserves more recognition from the public.

What a sweet little film.

Gets you thinking a lot about grief, our chosen family, broken homes, childhood. Made me miss being a kid in a lot of ways, but happy to be an adult in others.

The little girl actress is fantastic, but so is everyone. I want the old couple to be my parents, really. It seemed like such a warm place to be, and watching this was like thinking about a good memory you have from your childhood. Most of the movie is in the Irish language and that was a trip. A RARE language, sounds very nordic. Or how I imagine english sounds like to people who can't understand it.

The movie looks gorgeous too, love how it's framed and everything looks silky smooth. It feels like they shot on film, even if they didn't.

It's pretty predictable, I don't know if there's anything new necessarily here. It's well made, but you knew where it was going early on. Nothing groundbreaking or anything, but still a very sweet movie that hits everything it needs to well. My mom would love this.

Not gonna lie and say it didn't break my heart. I cried. And it felt good.

I just watched this and, along with Aftersun, broke my heart in the best possible ways this awards season.

I couldn't hold back tears basically since the beginning of the movie, the performances are stellar and even though the plot is simple, the power of this movie comes from the beautiful and sensitive filmmaking which elevates that plot to incredible heights.

I'm at a loss of words right now, but this (and Aftersun of course) is definitely one of the most beautiful movies I've ever seen.

Great film. Probably should've been nominated for Best Picture over Elvis.
