Also just leaving here some films that rewatching them with headphones made the experience much better for me — mostly movies with great sound design/engineering and score:

  • Paris, Texas (1984)

  • Cinema Paradiso (1989)

  • Baby Driver (2017)

  • Dunkirk (I had watched it on IMAX tho so much didn’t change)

  • Life Is Beautiful (1997)

  • Twin Peaks: Fire Walk With Me (1992)

  • Eyes Wide Shut (1999)

  • Doctor Zhivago (1965)

Since my upstairs neighbors are a family of absolute dicks, all of them.

But I'll check some of these out as well.

I watched the original West Side Story with headphones last year and it astounded me. I felt like I was right there with the characters, with music swelling around me.

A lot of Studio Ghibli movies are incredible with headphones too. Princes Mononoke comes to mind.

Also, Umbrellas of Cherbourg has a truly haunting score that sounds great on any immersive sound system.

I moved to headphones in my new place because the furnace/ac is so loud. It’s kinda game changing, don’t need subtitles, can walk away and still hear things.

Tenent is watchable with headphones

Spider-Man: Into The SpiderVerse is great with ‘em.

PSA if you have a windows device go to headphone. audio settings and set up the sound equilizer and bass booster. Makes the audio experience thrice as good.
