In my mind, these two films are unquestionably the pinnacle of 1990s action films. They sit squarely at the top over all other 1990s action films (with the possible exception of Goldeneye, but I’m leaving Bond in his own class). But how do you pick which one is the king, even if not by much? The Rock has a great cast, from the Connery/Cage chemistry, to Ed Harris, and John fucking Spencer. Air Force One has Harrison Ford, Gary Oldman, Aaron from 24, and inspired Gibbs from NCIS. Both films have incredible soundtracks and themes.
