Basically random question but would be interesting to hear different options, mine would probably be something like eraserhead or synecdoche new York would be a great pick too. Maybe those picks would just make funeral guests having more questions than answers, or having a bigger existential crisis. Still tell me your picks

Ohhhh, if you can't win them, just force them (only applicable in this situation) still very nice choice. Hope people watch that movie more just by reading your comment

Napoleon Dynamite. I just figure it'd encapsulate how I try to live and everything I wanted to do with my life

And having your coffin sporadically playing chamberlain "hmmmmmmmm". Some would be terrified others would be having the time of their life, great picks

The one movie I can quote nearly in its entirety, the movie that basically defined my childhood, the movie I have seen thousands of times.

Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles (1990)

That being your choice, truly believe that way more people than you ever known would be attending your ceremony, even after death you are gathering people. Great choice!

I'll be honest, having a lot of people attend to just watch the movie never occurred to me.

I had to boil it down to the one movie that those close to me associate with me the most and one that in some form another has had long reaching impact on me.

If you sit down and breakdown the individual plot elements of the movie, you'll see that it actually encompasses a lot of themes about loss, grief, family, friendship, acceptance, and more.

For a movie about "four walking, talking turtles" It's actually one of the most heartfelt and intelligent "kids" movies of the 90's.

I know, I know, I know, that's actually a line from Secret of the Ooze, which is a more lighthearted movie, but one, I nonetheless love nearly as much.

The problem is, one movie wouldn't be enough, there would have to be an epic montage of my favorite things. A trailer of my life and interests, if you will.

You leaved me speechless, and sorry if I came too "jokey" before but I think just the viewing of that movie would encapsulate so much nostalgia and cheer memories to a lot of people around that hearing about a viewing nearby in honor of somebody, well would be kinda a great experience. Still thank you for taking your time explaining and dissecting some of the aspects of the connection it has to you.

No need to apologize for a lighthearted comment, you in turn gave me reason to sit and reflect on why I chose the movie. Why it still resonates with me.

Initially I did consider a sarcastic answer at first, but I decided a sincere response was appropriate.

I am appreciative of your responses and of you creating the thread.

Maybe a marathon of all of my favorites. I like to have variety so I’m not very picky with my selections.

Sunset Boulevard. Because to me the movie symbolizes fatality and portray how things can end up dramatically in such a beautiful way.

Definitely a Coen Bros movie, I feel like A Serious Man is a very funereal choice

My two choices are either

The Fountain. Beautifully shot and while the story of a man learning to accept the death of a loved one might be obvious, a funeral isn't really the place for subtlety.

Fantastic Mr Fox. One of my personal favorites and the it's the type of humor my family enjoys. I like the idea of being sent off after laughing together one more time.
