This is just for fun! Also, keep in mind that the actors went to college for acting graduated or at least spent more than a year in the school. And this doesn’t mean that the actors who didn’t go to school haven’t gotten any kind of training, arguably all actors have taken some sort of class or training.

More interesting I think, would be people like Leo, Ryan Gosling amd Austin Butler who started as children compared to the top half of your list

Also, they almost certainly went to some kind of acting school. A lot of film studios are contractually obligated to pay for acting school for younger stars if they're below a certain age. Even if it's just a few months that can make a massive difference

This is just for fun lighten up. If anything this distinction shows that acting school isn’t necessary to become an actor as many actors feel pressured to study acting in college

it doesn't mean a whole lot in the grand scheme of things. good actors will be good actors no matter the background. using a random example because the two used to be married and were in multiple films where their (excellent) acting can be directly compared: Kenneth Branagh trained at RADA and was so talented he performed a soliloquy for the Queen once as a student, Emma Thompson never trained (she studied English at Cambridge) but got her start working in many comedy series and in a West End musical.

Top list is a masterclass, but the bottom list has people who seem to have more passion, I’d say

Montgomery Clift could easily be placed on either list because he started as a child actor and was already an accomplished and fully formed actor before he reached his 20's. At 23 he took acting classes at The Actors Studio under Robert Lewis who is probably the most forgotten of the three original method acting teachers. The other two were Stella Adler (who Marlon Brando studied under) and Lee Strasberg (who James Dean studied under).

Fun fact: in several episodes of Inside the Actors Studio Bradley Cooper is among the audience members compromised from students of The New School. In the episode where Robert De Niro was a guest, Cooper got to ask a question to a fellow acting school student and future co-star.
