He absolutely nails depression and anxiety.

The scene where he runs into Michelle Williams under the bridge is absolutely heartbreaking.

To convey that he can say hi and nice to meet you and pops out an excuse as why he’s been absent immediately.

The feeling of thinking you have a mask in place only to be torn off by the person you least want it to be torn off by. And the realization that you don’t have your shit together and everyone knows it.

That you want desperately to be better. But can not find a foothold and the idea of a coffee with your ex wife is enough to make you physically unable to speak. Then immediately go into a bar and get in a fight because you don’t know how to process your grief or guilt.

It’s a master class in acting by everyone in that movie.
