I love the soundtracks to both films, and really like Phantom more as a movie. The other day I read that it had a long running midnight showing (can't remember where). It got me thinking about how Rocky Horror has the same thing. I wanted to get a general idea on which people think is better. I expect that Gen Xers will do the most replies.

So, which movie and which song/scene/Quote from it.

For me Phantom, the musical scene where Beef gets killed on stage (Life at Last/Somebody Super Like You). Don't really have a quote, but I can't ever say "beef" without putting the same emphasis on it like Paul Williams did when introducing him.

I like both, but Phantom is the one I can't stop rewatching.

Rocky Horror has the better music imo. Though I prefer Shock Treatment to either.

I love both but if I had to pick one for a rewatch it will always be Phantom. Watching it for the first time was a revelation. It picks me up, whirls me around in that messed up world, and spits me out feeling so sad in the tragic finale. Plus you're so right about Beef.. underrated king.

Seeing Phantom in a packed midnight showing would probably make me weep if I'm being honest, something about it.

For me it‘s Rocky Horror Picture Show. While Phantom of the Paradise has the best song overall („Special to me“, sung by Jessica Harper), Rocky just makes more fun, both in soundtrack and movie. But thats just my two cents!

Phantom of The Paradise.

But I wish more Rocky Horror showings would do a double feature with Paradise. They go very well together.

That's what I thought. They are totally on par with each other and I figured the same people who like one would like the other. Neck and Neck.

Can’t say anything about the latter as I’ve never seen it. But Rocky Horror will always have a special place in my heart. The only other one I enjoy possibly more and it’s only because of the music is Repo! The Genetic Opera
