Did you get any idea of what kinds of horror movies you both like? If you can decide on a sub-genre (slasher, supernatural, monster, etc.), you could look into the best of the best and work from there.

Slow burn/psychological horror: Hereditary (2018) The Witch (2015)

Supernatural horror: Sinister (2012) The conjuring (2013)
