I don't know anything about the novel, but I always liked the 2005 film. So you may want to check it out?

According to most people here, the 1995 is more accurate. If it turns out I really like the story I'll watch the 2005 film(it's usually not my kind of thing but who knows? Maybe It'll surprise me).
