I felt like it didn’t get credit for being beautifully gross. You can’t remake the original over and over.

Don't think the original has ever really be redone... still probably one of if not the finest thriller/suspense/horror of its ilk. Much like Terminator, the first film is above, the 2nd is just action. Apples and oranges in terms of genre.
