i can’t remember the last time i hated a movie as much as Bullet Train. oh, wait, yes i can: Deadpool 2, the last movie i walked out on. when the credits for Bullet Train started and i realized it was the same director, EVERYTHING made sense. non-funny tongue-in-cheek too-cool-for-the-genres-it-pretends-to-be bullshit. the least sincere trash i’ve ever seen. i was so disappointed in Pitt.

Nothing about the film was meant to be sincere lol. It was always billed as an over the top, balls to the walls action comedy, just like Deadpool 2.

You don't see either movie for a sincere logical plot. You see them to shut your brain off and just enjoy the absolute nonsensical absurdity and crazy action sequences.

It's nonsensical entirely on purpose.

If that's not your cup of tea, that's fine. But the movie delivered exactly what the trailer presented.

If you went in expecting something more akin to Speed, I dunno what to tell you.
