The movie follows the tournament the following year, not 5 years in the future.

Good point. All three movies occur within a span of about a year and a half.

One thing that bothers me is that he never once called Mr. Miyagi “sensei”. Calling him “Mr. Miyagi” always seemed very disrespectful to me (even during Cobra Kai).

I never got this either. In part 2, he fought and beat an Asian karate master, who taught Karate to America GIs. And they kept making the point that if he loses, it means death. You'd think having a fight at home after that would be cake.

But Karate Kid III was such a bad movie, it's almost comical. The acting is terrible, especially Macchio and the guy that played Silver. And there are some real plot holes. These guys are vandalizing his bonsai shop, destroying valuable property, and no one bothers to call the police?

And the end is terrible. He gets beat up and down the mat the entire match, but gets the winning point with that weird kata (confusing Barnes)?

You got the timeline wrong. Yeah it came out 5 yrs later , but wasnt set 5 yrs later. It wasn't great , but it wasn't bad. It was slightly amusing when it wasn't trying to be.Some scinephile!

Daniel is the same coward he was in the first moving

Moving? You mean movie?

Because Miyagi WAS his sensei. Larusso trained under him. Yes, “Mr” is formal, but within the context of Miyagi being his mentor and practically like an uncle to him, “sensei” is more appropriate.

Yes I know he was his sensei. Maybe Miyagi didn't wish be addressed as sensei. As long as Daniel addressed him respectfully, why does it matter?
