I recently saw The Ritual (2017) >! which has an awesome creature design. Although you don’t really get a full look at it until the end of the film, I’d be confident to remember from what movie it is from if someone showed me a picture of it several years later. !<

This got me thinking if there has been any other lesser known monsters/aliens that have had iconic designs.

Mike Wazowski and Sully from Monsters, Inc. (2001).

This is the most accurate answer here. More people know these guys than the folks from Pan Labyrinth, District 9, Book of Henry, etc

I'll suggest that the Heptapods in Arrival are memorable and realized in a remarkable way.

The Pale Man from Pan's Labyrinth wasn't around for long but he left one heck of an impression

Absolutely not.

There have been great designs and memorable characters, but the xenomorph is, IMHO, a true work of genius from Giger and has not come close to being matched.

Predator benefits from being a cinematic originator of the “hunter alien” trope and an incredible design.

I can’t think of a single design that comes anywhere close to either.

The bear is not an alien. (to explain I would be giving things way). However, what's in the lighthouse is. I'm not a fan of the movie but I don't think there's ever been an alien like that before.

Well.. I like the Jeepers Creepers franchise, and I think the monster antagonist is fairly interesting. But this franchise is... well... not as fondly regarded as Alien or Predator.

This is definitely not on the same level as the predator and xenomorpphs, but I like the mimics in edge of tomorrow. Both quick and deadly

The new iteration of Pennywise will definitely get recognition for years to come.

And the Babadook is pretty iconic already.

Art from Terrifier is supposed to get more films which could make him a cult killer in the spheres of Jason or Freddy.

Del Toros Reaper Strain in Blade 2 and The Strain.

You got some iconic guys there- Jared Nomak, Eichhorst, the Master.

Victor Crowley from the Hatchet movies. Great design, original, ironic weapon and a love for belt Sanders. He has 4 movies under his belt which are all fun, entertaining and super ridiculously gory. I sure hope NECA makes a 7" ultimate version of him next year.

The monster from the ritual is probably up there with them too for its originality and pure terror

Don’t put spaces between the text you want to spoil tag and the exclamation points.
