I know the horror aspect is obviously the focus, but did it ever feel difficult to balance out the comedy and gore? Was there any memorable jokes or scenes that got left out because they didn't fit the genre enough?

Thank you all for doing this! I showed up a little late so my question might already be answered. Andy, what process did you use when writing the film? Did you create an outline or beat sheet or did you already have an idea of where to take it? How long did it take for you to develop and finish the script?

Question for Stephen -- Queer representation has thankfully improved in movies in recent years, but there's still a lot of work to be done. As a queer artist, what change would you like to see in the industry and what sorts of projects/roles do you hope will be made/exist in the hopefully-near future?

Also, you guys are so great! Came in as a fan of Ryan but you all sound like such smart and interesting artists! I will be watching the movie when the stream ends! :)

Awesome, thanks for answering Andy! Those are encouraging words to me because I am a screenwriter trying to make a career out of it and I tend to take my time at script development. Congratulations to you and everyone else involved in getting the film done!

Who was the first cast member to sign up for the movie?

How did you lock in Bruce Campbell?

Have you seen Black Christmas? Did that have any influence on your holiday horror?

Andy, I'm working on my first spec script here. The context and setting of my script puts this on the higher end of an indie budget. It's a period political drama that's mostly in a foreign language. What advice do you have for a spec script that may have all the makings of a great script but doesn't attract the widest audience and may have trouble finding someone willing to finance the amount that may be required to have it made. For some context, I'm just a screenwriter and not a director or film maker and only currently aspire to sell my script. My only thoughts are, move 9n to the next project and revisit in a few more years. 🫤 Also, I have Black Friday queued up to watch with my wife tonight. I'm very excited.
