Possum I've tried to watch I think the mumbling and not being able to understand the dialogue of the main character put me off a bit, I'll have another look though .

The woodsman was an uncomfortable viewing experience, to say the least.

'Hounddog', a.k.a "the Dakota Fanning rape project". Actual working title. Maniacs.

The movie's pretty meh but rather exploitative, so... yeah. Head's up. Fanning gives an excellent acting performance, if nothing else.

A bit more of a dark comedy, but 'Happiness' also deals with it; although that being said, it tries to make all parties involved a bit sympathetic.

Uuh... that's all that comes to mind right now. Not really a topic I profess to have much knowledge on.

Happiness is my favourite Todd Solondz film. Very good stuff . I've not seen Hounddog yet, have put it off because of Dakota Fanning (not a big fan of her at all), but I should maybe give it a whirl.

Lemme guess... War of the Worlds?

She was an insufferable shit in that movie, and really soured her other performances for me.

I think her performance in WotW was pretty grounded and realistic, retrospectively. Speaking as an uncle, I can say with 100 percent certainty that all of my nieces would be like that during an alien invasion.

Still an insufferable shit, though. Like, the movie didn't need to have her in it. It easily could've just been a father-and-son story.

Bastard out of Carolina. It's rough, though. Angelica Houston made sure that the child star had access to a therapist during filming.

I saw Bastard Out of Carolina many years ago while drunk. I remember it was on VHS, and the abuse that poor girl suffered made me cry for her innocence, really. A great film (and accompanying book).

Sleepers, has Brad Pitt in it. The childhood part is a rough watch. Movie shows how they deal with the trauma as adults. Robert DeNiro plays a helpful priest as well.

I just finished sleepers about ten minutes ago!! DeNiro is always top notch and a very helpful character in this.

RED ROCKET is all about the grooming of a minor.

PROCESSION is an incredible doc on Netflix about a group of men who use filmmaking as a way to work out the abuse they faced as young boys at the hands of priests.

Another new movie FUNNY PAGES has a plot element of sexual abuse to a minor. Great movie.

THE STRANGE THING ABOUT THE JOHNSONS, BASKETBALL DIARIES, DOGTOOTH
