I was curious if collecting original one sheets was still a thing. I used to like collecting the traditional 27x41 movie posters when I was a kid. There use to be a movie poster store near me that i loved going to and would drool over the latest releases. I’ve been curious lately and was wondering if anyone still does it. I don’t really hear of this hobby anymore.

Have a great new years!

Yes, we still exist. Those of us with theaters love sharing the stories behind our favorite ones.

There's always a great second hand market for collectibles especially film ephemera. The market for film posters would likely crossover into many markets.

Definitely still a thing. I don’t know how anyone has the space for them though.

Same here. There’s nothing like displaying a bunch of them around the house or just to take them out and spend two hours to fold them back.

Yeah I used to love collecting and hanging up film posters on my wall, but as an adult I love so many movies now so I don't want to be buying a whole bunch of posters and be wasting my money on original movie posters. But I did recently go on eBay to buy specifically a poster card from the movie Bones & All and I haven't done that in a long time so it was a nice feeling receiving it! Happy New Year's as well. ✌️

I still check for my Unicorns now and then; all mine are in storage. I need a particular version of Butch Cassidy and the Sundance kid. Only the OG will do.

When I worked for a certain now defunct bookstore chain I would take home the lightbox movie posters that were printed on acrylic sheets. I think I've got a few in storage still...

Had a few when I was a kid my local cinema and video shop would give them away if you asked nicely but that was late 80s early 90s. Started to collect press kits from classics but maybe find some original posters again would be cool too

I have an original poster for The Prisoner Of Azkaban, one of those huge ones from the light up poster boards, before they became digital. I missed the one of Emma Watson further down the road, so stalked out the poster guy before kindly asking for the poster. I went home a very happy 17 year old, haha

I get Star Wars ones from DMI, but that's about it.

I see posts like this and I think, "Nobody fucking does anything anymore, they just stare at their phone and rinse and repeat every day like it's groundhog day". Glad some people still have hobbies and interests.
