Only half an hour in so far but the guy with the Queens hat saying

"He got paid $1500 and they all went dick deep up in Trump, came on his face and all that shit. Mothafuckas sucking dick, god bless America"

One of my all time favorite quotes in a movie

Kind of pissed because this whole time I thought he was there at Jan 6th.

Yeah, I thought the buildup was good with lots of great new footage, but despite doing the best with what they had, things not ending with a full Channel 5 style look at Jan 6th really made the film peter out for me, especially with the precedent they've set.

I haven't followed the marketing, but I feel like the narrative for this thing has been "Channel 5's look at Jan 6th". For them to not have even been there, I can't help but feel let down. Still though, the film's full of great stuff.

Yup, that was my interpretation of the marketing too. That he was there and had an inside look channel 5 style.

It wasn’t terrible but I was angry when the rug was pulled.

Ah RIP, I haven't watched anything beyond the trailers yet since I've been waiting for my GF to have some free time to watch it together since she's a huge fan of his channel, but I kind of thought this whole thing was sort of "Here's what's happening after the election, let's ride this through to Jan 6th".

I mean, I guess it makes sense, how do you document Jan 6th in his format that hasn't already been done. Having watched it all on livestreams when it happened, it probably isn't a great fit for his format and we'd likely just be getting more of Q-Shaman style interviews which would just be more "Oh i didn't do anything wrong, those OTHER people were there, it was deep state agents, etc etc etc", but it's still a little disappointing. The trailers definitely hyped this up to seem like it was going to be riding the Post Election Madness train all the way through.

It was fun! I felt really bad for that one white kid who was convinced all Dems were pedo’s and reptilians. Then at the end of the movie he felt bad that the Q stuff had his dad addicted and kept him away from his family. I liked how he made the comparison about people just trying to make their lives better and get out of the hood and the other people were just focused on stupid conspiracies and blowing money on Trump memorabilia and rally’s.

"Do you know what projection is?"

Does /r/movies not have official discussion threads for documentaries? Genuinely asking because I want more people talking about it.

I was physically ill watching this. Really illustrates how divided we are and how much people on both sides care. Seeing people be riled up on both sides until a tipping point is reached is really really sick.

I can only imagine the aura of hate and violence at those rallies.

Really amazing documentary.

I really enjoyed it. Thought it was well done.

The juxtaposition between the Stop the Steal movement being pretty much a hobby for people, while BLM were simply people trying to live their lives was really good.

I think the content is a lot more palatable 20 minutes at a time like the format of the YT videos is. It was pretty hard to watch that much nonsense for that prolonged time. I understand and respect what he was trying to do, though.

Both sides of the mainstream media, but not necessarily both sides of the actual political spectrum. I'm not sure how anyone could reasonably argue that stations like CNN, MSNBC, etc had contributed positively to the political sphere during this time.

What else would be implied by their statement? The documentary was explicitly about how media influenced popular behaviors, and conservatives typically don’t play the “it was both sidesy” card.

It’s fine if you aren’t interested in dialoguing but you don’t need to behave like this.
