I used to enjoy watching movies, like most people, but in the past decade I've watched much fewer movies than I used to. I find they're too long and when I do watch them I turn them into a mini series with short viewing sessions. There's also a lot of feels like I've seen this before and a lack of new wonder and awe which, is perhaps, expected of someone in their mid 40's.

Now I am sick with covid, isolating in the bedroom and scrolling for a movie to watch through Prime, Netflix, Crave, Disney Plus, etc. and nothing grabs me. I know there are movies out there that will blow me away and make me appreciate how great movies can be. I just need help finding them. Something original, thought provoking, any action scenes are required for the plot rather than the plot's purpose to get to the next action scene though action isn't required, etc. Help.

I want to ask if others here feel the same way but not sure how many would be hanging out on movies but perhaps you have encountered others like me.
