I’ll always have nostalgia for Summer 2007 because I was going to the movies almost every week. Though I know a lot of those big releases were considered to be disappointments by many, I still enjoy a good chunk of them. From the outset prior to seeing any of those films the lineup for that Summer was insane. There were so many franchise films coming out during that time.

I do think 2008 is THE answer to my question based on what I’m seeing in this thread.

Summer 2009 was a let down for me personally and I think it mostly had to do with being the writers strike that happened from 07-08. Star Trek, and District 9, Inglorious Bastards, and Hurt Locker were definitely the standout films of the season. I’m still sore over how bad Transformers 2 was. I was anticipating that to be the best blockbuster of the Summer.
