I appreciate him, I just don't like Billy Madison or Happy Gilmore as much. I was born in 2002.

He doesn't come close to amassing anywhere near as much pudding in any other film, so this has to be the answer.

Spanglish is a close second, the dude knows tension

He’s a very capable actor. The few roles where he really locks into the performance instead of playing “Adam Sandler” always impress me and I wish we’d have gotten more of Adam Sandler, serious actor. I understand that’s not necessarily his thing and he kinda just wants to make money instead of art. It is what it is and he has every right.

Spanglish is pretty close in terms of characters, but pdl has PT Anderson so yea

My favorite is Uncut Gems for which he should have been nominated for an Oscar. It was one of the most intense movies I've ever seen. And I'm going to admit it- I liked the movie where he played his own twin.

Shocked that I had to scroll this far to see Uncut Gems. Phenomenal filmmaking and an amazingly emotional performance from Sandler.

My favorite movie of his is probably The Wedding Singer.

Billy Madison, Happy Gilmore and The Waterboy are all guilty pleasures of mine. But they're not good movies. They're just fun to watch.

Punch Drunk Love and Uncut Gems are actually good movies, but I don't feel the need to watch them again.

Billy Madison, Happy Gilmore, The Wedding Singer, The Waterboy, Big Daddy, and Little Nicky

What a great run for a comedian in film. Every one of them brings his comedic vision to the big screen in such a genuine way. They all feel like a hungry young comedian who wants to leave his mark. I still like many of his comedies from the 00s (especially Mr. Deeds and 50 First Dates), but those six are the reason I’m an Adam Sandler fan to begin with.

Also, he’s an EXCELLENT dramatic actor, but that deserves its own post.

Got to go with Waterboy as my no.1 pick.

'Happy Gilmore' is an absolute classic. 'The Wedding Singer' is fantastic as well. I can take or leave most of his other films, to be honest.

Uncut Gems, Punch Drunk Love, Big Daddy, Happy Gilmore, The Wedding Singer, Billy Madison, The Waterboy, Click…in that order. There are some other decent movies too, and more than a few pieces of garbage.

The Sandman is super talented and a rare person in Hollywood. I appreciate him.

I don't really have a favorite. I consume so many shows and movies, it's hard to be a good judge of that sort of question. I liked Hustle because I learned a lot about bball from it.

Happy Gilmore and Uncut Gems are the 2 best ones imo

I’m not sure about my “favourite” Sandler movie at this point but when I was younger, it was absolutely Happy Gilmore. For his more serious roles, I recently watched Hustle and found it to be a really solid viewing experience.

I love Adam Sandler movies. They are my comfort. My husband makes fun of it but won’t complain when I watch grown ups over and over. My favourite are Billy Madison, blended and Just Go With It.

Its hard to consider all of Sandlers filmography because there are 2 distinct versions.

Theres the better known, comedic films in which he tends to not a be character as much as have the story flow through and happen to him if that makes sense. The Happy Gilmores and Mr Deeds are the better of these. Theyre extremely enjoyable and have a lot of fun with the character interactions, leading to a lot of one liners.

Then, there Sandlers serious work. He has a way of doing drama that isnt overdone and full of himself. In my opinion, Funny People (which i havent seen mentioned here) is at the top of this. On the surface its a comedy, but its also a self aware story about a man who has lost what he loves and his motivation, and also about never meeting your heroes.

With his comedy work, hes also done a good job of growing with his audience. He started out as an idiot youth, became a directionless slob, then a young father, and now hes aging into older adulthood. Im jist waiting for his take on being a grandparent, his comic styling is going to transition well into grandpa humor.

You Don't Mess With the Zohan is probably my favourite. It's non-stop over the top silliness with the absolute most outlandish concepts. The insane grandma gigolo ring he runs to fund the salon he works at, competitive hacky sack with DISCO DISCO halftimes, Isreali/Palestinian voice magic, Fizzy Bubbly, Dave Matthews as a terrorist, it has it all.

Also side note, 8 Crazy Nights is a relic best left in the past. I remember it fondly but god damn it does not hold up well at all.

As far as the post 2005 comedies, I find I Now Pronounce You Chuck & Larry, Grown Ups and You Don't Mess with the Zohan all very underrated.

I’ve been watching some of his movies lately.

In his earlier movies he was like a lovable loser or misfit or whatever. I watched one of he wrote himself at a sex god lol. In chuck and larry or whatever. Not all of his movies are like this obv, but it’s pretty funny. But not good funny really.
