Yeah, it was fairly generic as far as romcoms go. And I generally like Eichner, but him as leading man was kinda grating

I thought it was definitely not generic but still didn’t think it was good. Mainly because of the leads like you pointed out. Dude was an asshole bad person, his parents taking him to see people fucking at 12 is not normal and shouldn’t be made out to be a good thing/way to find yourself.
That not being addressed rubbed me the wrong way,
