Does anyone know a way to request a 3-4 digit license plate? My nana had one back in the day and I’d really like to get one myself, as they remind me of her. Not sure if they still do it, as her plate was at least 48 years old.

They're usually handed down. What was your grandmother's #? Maybe you could get that one if it's available. Obviously there are only 999 3 digit plates and 9999 4 digit plates so not many are available.

Only if there is a 000 plate. 10 x 10 x 10 = 1000. A 1000 plate is 4 digits.

People with low plates in NH are politically connected. Gotta know somebody who knows somebody high up in the DMV. Normal people are outta luck!

Now, MA couldn't handle the look-the-other-way corruption. So much so that the patronage/bribery around low plates became a scandal, so they instated a yearly lottery for 4-digit and lower license plates. I scored a 4-digit plate starting with the number 4 a few years back. Most people don't care but some people find it cool.

Write a letter to the Director of the Division of Motor Vehicles and request it with the reason why you want one. A relative of mine did this within the last 5 years and was granted one.
