This is underrated my favorite view in the whole state. Yes there are many others, but on a clear day when you come over that hill on 16 and see Washington, it's breathtaking and a truly special NH moment.

This was me, driving down 93, north of Littleton. Wild!

Agreed. Spent many clear mornings driving from Portsmouth to the Whites to go hiking and always loved that first view of Washington. More often than not someone would pull over and take a picture like this. I think I have a few myself.

Except Friday nights and Sunday mornings during tourist season. Don't get me wrong love having them here and helping stimulate the economy, just have to find more secret squirrel routes than 16

That was part of my morning commute for about 5 years, it was great.

True that. I never went anywhere near 16 when I lived in the Seacoast area and headed up to the mountains unless I was high and had the patience to deal with the traffic or someone else was driving, lol.

Now I wish I took a picture last night when I came thru the notch about 3am. The moon light on the snow tops and crisp clear sky made everything super bright. I could turn off my headlights and see perfectly fine. It was like a beacon of light shining down from Mnt Washington.

Always gives me goosebumps when I'm on 16and I realize I can see the White Mountains from all that way away.
