I didn’t say it wasn’t. I’m not a fan of our two-party system whatsoever. It polarizes nuanced issues far too much and reduces the chances of enacting actual change in policy. My point is that comparing the percentage of overall votes for a candidate and their constituents’ percentage of support for a single issue is pointless and only serves to create more polarization.
We could also compare Sununu’s 57% victory to NH residents’ support for abortion, constitutional carry laws, tax policies, or anything else.
The answer to deciding individual issues is public referendums to the state constitutional amendments. Our ability to change our state laws should not be blockaded by any party.

It is, ideally there'd be a way to have representative voting on issues, but that's logistically a lot harder so you get package deals and parties.
