Laboratory Glass?

Just curious if anyone knows where to buy beakers and stuff in the greater Boston area?

I make home made hon-mirin (not available in the States) and need to vacuum filter it to get rid of the solids and recover as much liquid as possible. Vacuum filtration is my only option at this point. And no, I don't need a huge set up, I make like 2L/year.

Edit: I got an amazing suggestion for a place called Filtr8. Absolute baller. But... anyone know if a place to just.... browse?

I was able to find a vacuum filter on Amazon (I was a lab technician in the early part of my career, so I know exactly what you are talking about).

Also Filtr8 labs seems to have what you are looking for. 🙂

I found them on Amazon too, but... very big or expensive. I basically just need a filtering flask and have/can jank the rest. I was just looking for an in person retailer because.... I like looking?

Sciplus.com has a hand pump vacuum and the flask (I have a food grade filter and funnels, tape is love), but.... I do so enjoy shopping in person.

Long story short: Thanks for the rec, I have bookmarked the filtr8 link and will buy there as soon as I have the spare change!

I buy stuff from American Science and Surplus. I've never had an issue with any of their stuff, and they carry lab equipment as well.

If you don’t need to be able to browse in person, ChemGlass is our go to for lab grade glassware for work. Out of curiosity why is vacuum filtration your only option? Alternatively it looks like you can get a cheap vacuum filtration setup on Amazon for like $50 This claims it’s a Büchner funnel but it’s not, it’s a fritted disk filter which can be more annoying to clean depending on what your filtering out and how big/small the particles are

I’ve bought several Erlenmeyer flasks off of Amazon for my home brewing yeast cultivation experiments. No idea where you would get them locally though.

There are. There is a surplus store that has a good selection out in Wisconsin and Iowa. I used to be able to get some at my local hardware store (different country), most of the craft stores near me had test tubes at bare minimum (again, different country).

Was just curious.
