To be honest good luck, when I rented my first house just about 2 years ago, the state had a vacancy rate of just 0.6%. Can't imagine it has gotten any better.

I would say definitely keep trying around. Landlords are mostly looking for annual leases from what I've seen, but you might get lucky.

I would also look on Craigslist for rooms for rent. People are always keen to rent out their extra space for an extra buck and most of them aren't trying to molest you with a price. definitely use caution and always know before hand who you're moving in with.

I never thought of such low vacancy rate before. I guess I probably need to pay extra to get a entirely private place. I can’t get used to leave with strangers. Thanks a lot for sharing

Go on Airbnb or vrbo and message hosts. They might be open to a 3 month lease. It’s a lot easier for them most of the time. Also check furnishedfinder.com

Maybe talk to Greenwald realty, they got a lot of flak but they were good to me. They run a lot of apartments in Keene

Check out FurnishedFinder.com. A friend uses the site to rent to nurses for approx. 90 days a time, I guess it’s a pretty typical window for short term nursing gigs, and the site caters to it.

Vacancy in the state is low. I think the air BnB option sounds the most viable and maybe the most affordable. A 3 month rental in Southern NH is going to be pricey.

Completely understandable, I was 19 going on 20 when I first rented a room. The gentleman was very nice and stayed out of my way. But it definitely gave an eerie feeling living in a strangers home. Took me almost a year to get used to it and I rented with him for just over one. Do what makes you the most comfortable man. And like I said best of luck to you, sincerely, it's a tough economy out there.

There's landlords that rent exclusively to short-term nursing contract employees that come in for 3 months stints. If you look online, you should be able to find the connection to get into that world of short-term rentals without paying all the associated fees with an Airbnb.

You want to rent a whole house for just 3 months? I feel like most medium term rentals are smaller (houses will either be Airbnb or 6-12 month leases). But as others have said, most of NH has very low housing vacancy rates, including SW NH/Monadnock région. You will have to take what you can get

Keene is a big college town so many rentals end up empty in the summer. I ran into a bit of a pickle when I lived there one summer so I called my landlord and she let me do a summer rental. Try giving a call to a few different postings and see what they can do. In a lot of cases they are pretty happy to modify a lease for a quick buck.

I'll rent you my 2nd bedroom for 3 months. Clean, spacious, private, only thing is my lease doesn't allow me to rent it out so you'll have to pretend to be a cat if the property management ever questions you.
