I have a few friends that have gone to or do go to dynamic strength training in Nashua.

I go to fit lab in Nashua on Amherst. Really nice gym that has all kinds of classes, a basketball court(a little dated for a court), it’s a touch pricey at 45.00 a month but that includes 24/7 access via a door key phone app. They do offer personal training sessions and there’s plenty of helpful people around to ask questions. Other benefits are a smoothie bar and a sauna(saunas close after staffed hours). The one thing I will warn you about is thier contracts. They are a little shifty in thier contractual shenanigans. When you’re signing up make sure you understand your contract terms especially if you sign up some personal training. Make it clear how many sessions you want, in what period of time and don’t let them pressure you into a long term contract, unless you want regular weekly training. Main point with them, read the fine print and don’t pay for what you don’t want. It’s an excellent gym/service otherwise.

I'm at the Nashua-Merrimack YMCA. They have weights, cardio, spinning, classes, TRX, tennis, racquetball, indoor tracks, basketball, swimming, hockey, pickelball. An adult membership is $50/month. It's definitely not a hardcore gym - lots of people at a very wide variety of levels.

There is a Planet Fitness on 101A and one around exit 6 and one in Merrimack. Bare bones stuff and don't grunt or lift too heavy.

I have a barbell, and a couple of adjustable dumbbells, several fixed dumbbells and a bench at home so I can train at home as well - the weights are all just a lot lower than at the gym.

Planet Fitness would be a good starter gym. $10.00 a month and they do have trainers. Once you learn the ropes and if you want to get more into free weights you can look elsewhere.

Choice Fitness is in the south of Bedford right off of Daniel Webster Hwy if that’s not too far of a drive for you

Not sure of their current rates, but it's comparable to what you'd pay at a group fitness facility, except it's much, much more personalized.

It's 24/7 access, but there are coaches on staff throughout the day so you can go in whenever it's convenient for you (no appointment) and there is someone there to coach you.

Every client gets their own custom workout program. No group training. The owner is a physical therapist so they also have physical therapy on site.

Not sure if anyone read your post, but what you are going to want to do is find a personal trainer if you want someone to show you the ropes. However, you can also just look online for beginner routines.

It's all about how many times a week you can go and consistency. Everyone does their own thing that works well for them, and while some are better than others, the most important thing is consistency.

After you do that, go get a planet fitness membership (try not to pay a sign up fee if you can help it) and spend the $10 a month learning about lifting and getting comfortable. At some point you may want to upgrade to a higher quality gym and as others have said, fit lab is good, YMCA and then you start getting into more "country club" style places that offer more than just a gym but other benefits as well.

Good luck!

I go to best fitness in Nashua and I love it. The staff is great, there are people of all levels in all the time, they’ll try and pitch you on the training but you can just say no thanks

Unlike fitlab they clearly put their money back into the gym having just undergone a decent renovation over covid time
