Exit/entry highway ramps are multi laned or have wide shoulders so there’s plenty of room to merge or exit.

Car registration came out to around $125 per car compared to $195+ in CT.

Our auto insurance is going from ~$1100 for 6 months to $450 for 6 months. 2 cars / 2 drivers.

NH is more business friendly in every regard.

Casinos in NH have more of a mom + pop feel rather than a massive enterprise feel. Very laid back and enjoyable. You’d be hard pressed to find a blackjack table in CT for less than $25 minimum. NH has places you can play table games for $5.

I'm keeping this here - chances are you'll delete it once you try to go from 393W to 93S or 93S to 393E (Concord). :D

I’m sure there are exceptions to the rule but this place is nothing compared to CT highways. Left exits all over the place, stop signs for merging, narrow lanes, aggressive drivers doing anything they can to get 1 car ahead. The list goes on and on lol

Your cars must be small and inexpensive. Get a new, heavy vehicle and you'll be seeing registration fees of several hundred dollars. The municipal portion is based on list price with some depreciation for the first several years and the state portion on weight.

I've driven through Hartford many times, yes, it's chaotic.

& Yes, on/off ramps in most of the places are pretty good, the 93S / 939 interchange is probably the worst one in the state, and the 101/93 interchange in Manchester can get confusing, too.

I live in CT with a 5 year old outback and paid more than that. Been looking to move to NH but started a business in CT that kind of needs me, so I spend weekends and summers in NH for the past 10 years. Still not enough to claim residency but that's why I'm here!

I moved from NYC with city and state income tax to NH with neither. My on paper pay cut ended up being a function 20% raise.

You must have old and light duty vehicles. One of my equipment trailers is over 300 a year and that’s just a trailer.

For todays car prices that seems average! Luckily the last time I purchased a car was 2017 when paying under MSRP was normal 😖. My wife’s car is 12 years old so she pays about $100 per year lol.

Literally the highest property tax rate in NH (Claremont) is 40.

The city in CT that I live in now (from NH originally) is 43.8.

It's really not that bad, though with the housing market in NH being what it is, folks are potentially overpaying in that regard (when valuations catch up).

Nice. Now make sure you don’t turn it into Connecticut! 😃

I moved here to escape deep blue states, so I don’t have many complaints at all… but something I noticed IMMEDIATELY… NH folk like to ride the merge lanes all the way out.

C’mon folks it’s a MERGE lane. You get in to get over. Don’t ride it.
