I'm so sad. I drove south on 93 today, right before the Hooksett tolls and it looked like a bear had been hit. Why had a clean up crew not been called in to pick this poor animals body off the middle of the highway? It had me in tears all the way home. This is a fucking tragedy and it makes me so mad and sad.

You could've called it in via 911 or 511. If no one calls it in, no one with authority will know to go find it unless they were on a patrol and saw it.

Dude it's roadkill it happens 24/7 they can't keep up with picking up every dead animal immediately. I saw a dead deer on the side of the highway today. That's just par for the course. If you feel so bad for the animals sell your car and stop driving. Otherwise they will clean it up when they get the chance.

It takes crews a bit to get there sometimes, it's not like they have trucks waiting on standby every 5th mile marker to scrape a dead bear out the road. Usually it's just the poor schmucks who happened to be nearby/the new guys on the crew with the particular highway dept whose jurisdiction it's in. Not to mention, they don't know it's there until it's reported...

Source: me, have been the poor schmuck/new guy on a highway dept crew

Ikr like they aren't sad that it was killed really just that they had to see it. It inconvenienced them but who cares about roadkill as long as they don't have to see it. These subdivision people smh.

Too warm out to donate the meat and no need to crack open the vertebrae to check for CWD like deer.

The only tragedy here is the wallet of whoever owns the vehicle that hit it.
