The traffic was insane up there. 93 wasn't that bad once you got around the corner there. Lincoln, Conway, and the kangamangus were crazy though.

kangamangus was literally insane!!!! it was gorgeous so i get it but it took me hours to even get through it

I was in the traffic about that time heading through the notch from the Cog…great shot

I was trying to go north after this. I intentionally went the long way around to avoid the traffic.

Will be there on the 29th. The fam is scared all the leaves will be gone by then, judging by this pic I think we'll be alright.

Doubt there will be much left in another two weeks.

Worst case scenario, I'll tell them how beautiful the leaves look on the ground. 😂

What my family use to do is get onto I-89 in Bow, continue to I-91, get on I-91, continue to I-93, then head south through Franconia Notch along I-93. We'd take stops along the way, but we would avoid stopping in Franconia Notch because there's no point.

The brake lights are particularly beautiful this year.

Plenty of juiced enhanced images for sale to show how it was. Or of course you could just stay farther south and find the exact region that is exploding with beautiful color when you are in New England

So grateful that my new job is only 8 miles from my home instead of having a 60 mile one way trip, down 89S to 93N and having to deal with all this foolishness

Genuine question: Why isnt I93 a rail road at this point? It could have stops at the towns along it, it would eliminate the fluctuations of traffic gridlocking in certain seasons while still allowing people to travel and enjoy the state, and it would be sooo much better for the environment than the thousands of cars idling in traffic.
scapeblock t1_isk6q77 wrote
Also no.

Rail is absolutely elite. Sipping a coffee chugging through the mountains is next level peaceful not to mention you have 10x the room you would in a car
KantonL t1_isv1cjj wrote
Yeah having that experience in Switzerland for example is life changing and makes you hate long distance car travel

Yeah that's the standard I guess, no one would build for diesel trains in 2022
