got a job offer in Devens. I narrowed my search to Lowell/Nashua area for living. I’m coming from a (Philadelphia) suburb where I live now so hoping to find a quieter town near those cities. Any recommendations for a nice area near Lowell/Nashua?

It absolutely depends on your budget. The best places typically cost the most. You’re already going to pay mass income tax and if you live in NH you are going to pay a bit of premium on property taxes.

I’ll be renting (might be dumb saying the property tax won’t matter 😂 first time moving out) im more of a homebody and will likely be home a lot at first not knowing many people so won’t mind paying a little more for a bigger/nicer place. Hoping to stay under the 2 grand mark. Toured a place in Nashua today that wanted 2300 for 700 sq feet

It really would depend on your income. Harvard MA is beautiful but pricey. Same goes for Hollis NH. Lowell and Nashua are cities, Nashua having some very nice areas as well as some not so nice. It also depends on if you are renting vs. buying. Keep in mind, route 495 is a nightmare. Avoid it if possible. If it were me, I would go south towards Boxboro-Concord.

I guess I should have clarified, I’ll be renting. Living in my own making a decent income. I’m more of a homebody and will likely be home a lot at first since I won’t know many people. So won’t mind spending a little extra on housing to have a nicer place

If you can do yard and snow removal. Keep in mind, we can get tons of snow or sometimes barely any. You must be prepared if this listing interests you. I chose this one because as a single, you would have privacy but close access to big city life. Worcester is huge and vibrant with art, concerts, retail etc.

Waterfront- spare bedroom for visiting friends- I LOVE living on a lake. Get a kayak, you would love it. A bit longer commute. Be aware of yard, snow and heating expenses while living on the water. You can get utility expense history on the address by inquiring with the utility directly. https://www.apartments.com/38-allen-rd-brookfield-ma/wqd7hll/

Groton Pepperell. I used to live in hudson nh and worked on Devens. Ride wasn't great or awful but might be worth looking closer to Devens. What makes you pick the Lowell Nashua area. There are some nice smaller towns near Devens.

Speaking of Hudson, they just opened a brand new apartment complex next to the Route 3 exit. I know there isn't a lot of new aparments being built, so that might be something worth looking into for him.

Hudson seems like a perfect fit honestly. Close to Nashua but a little more quiet right? And it shows a 40 minute commute to Devens, sure it’ll be more during morning rush hour but my current commute is about that so won’t mind

My current commute is about 40 minutes so I won’t mind that for a commute. I picked Nashua/lowell for a few reasons. Got the job offer in Devens (have another potential one in Lowell) I’ve heard west of Devens isn’t that active so wanted to head east. Also the one person I know up there lives near Manchester so would like to be close to them but not mandatory

Dunstable is a small quiet town in MA that has a border with Nashua, Tynsgborough, Pepperell, Groton. Easy access to Nashua for shopping, MHT and BOS airports. Good school system shared with Groton. More cows than people.
