We surveyed hundreds of candidates running for office in New Hampshire in advance of the election to create this policy matrix. The goal was to help voters answer the question "who believes what I believe?". You can find which candidates share your values. We are trying to figure out if voters find this helpful or not. Any thoughts?

Feedback welcome!

Your matrix is a joke. According to this Liz Cheney and Donald Trump equally overlap my views yet she has voted against many of Trumps policies. You give me a 23% overlap with Bernie Sanders but i wouldn’t vote for him even if he was the only candidate on the ballot. I’ve never heard a single policy of his i agree with. And no i’m not signing up for your election reminders, i can find the publicly listed information just fine on my own thanks

Liz Cheney voted with Trump 93% of the time. The idea of the overlap visual is to show that every issue is a spectrum and not an absolute. So take Federal Minimum Wage. The answers are:

- Leave it to the states
- $7.25
- $9.00
- $11.75
- $15.

We all know Bernie is for $15. Let's say a person is for $9.00. Well that means they don't agree with Bernie, but they are also not agreeing with the folks who want $7.25 - so it is partial overlap.

I take it from your post you don't like the overlap concept - I appreciate that feedback.

Trouble is that the weighting is subjective, and the results are potentially misleading. A much more useful tool would feature what the candidates themselves have said on each issue. We get to decide how that overlaps with our own beliefs. This spoon fed “answer 5 questions and here is your candidate” nonsense will do more harm than good.

I think you'd be surprised how much of Bernie Sanders' policy ideas you agree with if you could separate his name from them. It's not a fluke that a not insignificant number of his supporters in 2016 went for Trump in the general election.

Let us reflect on how utterly ignorant you have to be to say Liz Cheney voted against Trump’s policies. This is catastrophically stupid.

What are these super special Trump policies? Can you name a single example?
