The media really needs to do a better job with their narratives on vehicle crashes. A “driver” of a pickup truck crashed into the restaurant. Removing the human agency disassociates the individual from the event.

Massholes doing masshole things out here. Feel bad for the people in the apartments who now have no place to live for thanksgiving.

Not-so fun fact: The US is one of the few (if not only) countries that seems to have vehicles randomly crashing into houses and buildings.

The vast majority of people who drive into buildings and cause accidents while driving the wrong direction on highways are drunk/high or have dementia. It would be nice to know how other parts of the world deal with these two types of drivers because we could use some pointers.

tl;dr: tl;dw: outside the Interstate Highway System and similar highways, driving >25mph anyplace is technically unsafe because once in awhile people fail to maintain awareness of their surroundings and control of their vehicle; but driving >25mph is also how people get from home to work and back, and do work in between, all in a single day. ¯\_(ツ)_/¯

The truck didn't crash into it - the driver crashed into it, using a truck.
It's weird how stories about accidents always depict the vehicle as the agent ("car kills pedestrian") as if it wasn't the driver's doing.

Harley sticker in the back window. Stereotypes exist for a reason-I bet he was liquored up to the gills.
I hope they can get those apartments fixed up soon. Really sucks for those folks there.
