I'm in Rochester and Breezeline has been much worse than Comcast in my experience, unfortunately.
Really wish I didn't mean that.

Switched to fidium myself. Synchronous gigabit fiber for $70 is pretty awesome.

I'm surprised you're getting that upload speed through them. Did they run fiber to the home? I didn't think cable modems could run asynchronous just yet.
Timzawesome OP t1_ivmd4zw wrote
Yeah, they ran fiber
djdirectdrive t1_ivmgdq8 wrote
Gotcha... Didn't realize they offered fiber service. That's good to know.

We switched to Hub66 in my area, local ISP based out of MA with offices in NH. $100/month for 1Gbps up/down, it's been awesome.

I get better speeds than that on Comcast 💁🏼♀️

Even on the upload?

I really enjoyed breezeline. Disappointed I had to switch when I moved.
averageduder t1_ivmp4mz wrote
I didn't have that experience when I lived in Rochester. Opposite, actually.

I wish. Ever since Atlantic rebranded as Breezeline I get bad speeds and lose internet all the time.
Loved getting off Comcast at first.

We have Fidium. Love it.
Except streaming all our tv. There is so many apps I don’t even know what’s on. Is there a way to like put all my content in one app so I don’t have to go to a different app every time I’m “scrolling channels” to see what’s on. Or if I want to find a movie I have yo check all ten streaming services individually. I do miss the Comcast interface with the voice remote.
I suspect I’m doing this wrong

YouTube TV basically fills that niche for me. Browsing still isn't as convenient as Xfinity, but I'm at least able to browse a program guide and find something to watch.

Sometimes just asking for a lower price works. I'm at $60/mo

Just got it. Hate the mandatory $10 monthly router fee. Hate the nearly non-configurable router. Hate how the 300MB router app, which is required to access the router and can only be registered on one phone, is the largest app on my phone. A phone which is constantly nagging me to free up space because the OS and system files take up 87% of the total space.
Other than that the service has been great for the past week.
DietCokeMachine t1_ivnk5yj wrote
You can run your own router. You just have to give them a call and provide MAC address. Check out r/fidiumfiber for more information.

Fidium is pretty good! I enrolled soon as I moved here and I love the gigabyte speeds (slightly overkill for what I do lol). Even the cheaper plans have decent quality speeds.
Do you have a smart tv? I’ve got a TCL and I’m able to search for whatever content I need, no matter the app it’s tied too. ie if I search Nightmare Before Christmas, the movie pops up and gives me every option through multiple streaming apps to choose from (rent through Disney, buy from Prime). That’s the closest thing I could think of
Boats_are_fun t1_ivnvc7e wrote
I do have a smart tv. I will have to see if there is a overall search feature. Right now it seems I have to search in each app. Than if none of the apps have the movie for free I have to go back to Amazon app to rent it
Boats_are_fun t1_ivnvggh wrote
Maybe I’m missing something. They advertised 70 dollars a month and I pay 70 a month. No extra fees I’m aware of.

What streaming device do you use.? Google Chromecast with Google TV is our streamer of choice. You can ask Google assistant anything by pressing a button.
You can check off what streaming services you have if any and it will make recommendations on what to watch.
Free channels coming soon I read.
spyboy70 t1_ivobwrf wrote
I thought Roku could do that (or at least search through all the connected services).
I use JustWatch.com on my phone to see where something is available. It can also keep track what you watch, but I've been using a trakt.tv account w/TVST (iPhone) for quite a few years, so I'm staying with that (unless JustWatch integrates with trakt.tv)

If you read everything they say there's a $10 monthly router fee baked into the advertised price therefore there's no hidden fees...
Lords_of_Lands t1_ivrurtc wrote
Good to know, thanks. I'll be doing that.
JayBisky t1_iw2cfhd wrote
Just buy your own compatible router. For the same cost of 10 bucks a month for a year you own the router and will never have to pay the router rental fee
Boats_are_fun t1_iw50its wrote
I guess I’m not all cranked up about a ten dollar fee when my bill is 50% of what it was with Comcast.
I hate CONcast

I am not saying that Breezeline (Atlantic Broadband) is the best, and I've had some bad experience with them at buildings my work owns, but I am tired of paying almost $100/month to Comcast for god-awful internet. Concord area.
