Senator, no. 100% Presidential run. Just a matter of when. My guess is 2028 as I think the Orange Idiot will be the nominee in 2024. If so, Biden would likely win again (seven million votes, folks). If I was a democrat, though, I'd be hoping they put somebody else up as by 2028 Biden will be in a rocking chair mumbling to himself and weaving baskets.

If DeSantis is the 2024 nominee, I think he'd win handily. BUT, he'd need a moderate VP and Sununu is someone he may well tap.

True Indy here and I think Biden, Trump and/or DeSantis would be a nightmare. I'd happily take Sununu over that lot but would prefer Angus King.

What do you think, reddit? Who would be your ideal candidate for Pres in 2024?

The nominee should be someone who appeals to many groups. Someone who speaks like a New Englander, but is also morbidly obese to appeal to the Deep South. Someone who can get votes from the elderly because he cares about Social Security and Medicare and has earned those benefits himself. Someone who can explain to the voting public that the other candidate would be a disaster.

There is such a man in New Hampshire, it’s not Chris Sununu though.

Trump, or more honestly, Trumpism has completely destroyed the Republican party. It's over. Republican is now a dirty word, and I don't see how the party could ever possibly come back from it. I still believe in my heart that the vast majority of Americans are moderates. Republicans used to get alot of those moderates when the democrats were going full left wing moonbat. But now the majority of the Republicans in Washington have gone just as far off a different deep end. I like Sununu alot. But, he's gonna have his work cut out for him trying to win over the voting public as a somewhat moderate Republican, now that the party name has been so disgraced.

Randy's too smart to take the job. We need someone smart enough to do the job and dumb enough to show up to do it. Randy Rainbow! No. Wait a minute. Stephen Colbert for President, AOC for vice-pres, and Randy Rainbow for press secretary.

I don't think Trump will be a nominee in the 2024. And if he is, he will 100% not win.

Lots of conservative (including myself) are taking a step back from him with the recent events. There are still plenty of people who are rooting hard for him but it's a lot less than it was 2 years ago.

I truly don't think it'll be beneficial to the republican party for him to attempt to run for president in 2024.

If DeSantis runs, he has my vote!

If Biden wins reelection, he wouldn't be able to run in 2028 regardless.

If he loses, I don't think he'd run again, most former one term presidents never ran again.

What I meant about Biden in 2028 is that if he ran again in 2024 and won he'd be an incoherent babbling divining rod when his term came to a close.

Most likely. I'd definitely prefer some youth in the next party leaders.

If Trump is the nominee Biden will run and win again because of anyone but Trump.

If Desantis is the nominee the Democrats will find an excuse and make Joe step aside so Newsome can run.

Odds on that would favor DeSantis, right?

I don't think that Sununu has the level of ambition to run for President though I think that he would do well at it. He seems to want a life and he can do that as Governor; much harder as President or Vice-President.

The scenario may be a huge battle between Trump and Desantis for 2024 which leaves the Republican party in shambles, basically deeply divided between moderates and MAGA. I think that Biden would run in this environment to prevent Trump from winning. I think that he won't run if Trump doesn't run. The problem for the Democrats is that they don't have a bench. They have a year to work on one though.

There's a huge hit to personal and family life in running for the highest office. You have to have enough ambition to overcome counting the costs to you and your family. The vast majority of people wouldn't want to do this.

Angus king has always been a politician I can respect. That list is short! I would vote Sununu over Biden. I would vote a used gym sock over Trump

Don't quit your day job to become a pundit, OP.

I don't like Sununu's politics at all, but even I have to admit, he's too decent of a human being to run a national GOP campaign. He's a dude who's regularly encountered on local hiking trails, who celebrated his election win going axe throwing and bowling. He's part of a royal political family and he was born with a silver spoon, and yet he seems mostly normal. IMO that's most of the reason he's so popular. You think this dude wants to be president and never even be allowed to drive a damn car again? The life he's built for his family is completely incompatible with the presidency.

Biden is going to be 82 years old in 2024. His approval rating is lower than Trump's was halfway through the regime. He's not running. If I had to put money on one of the names that are floating around, I'd put it on Gavin Newsom. Even though he really sucks, he's not 82 years old and what's the alternative in the mainstream narrative at the moment? Kamala or Mayo Pete? Lmao.

Realistically, it's going to be a relative unknown like Obama (for example: Raphael Warnock, Mark Kelly, Jon Stewart), so betting at all is a fool's errand.

That being said, I would absolutely put money on De Santis being the 2024 nominee. He turned Miami red FFS. MAGA chuds fucking love that guy.
