Ever since finishing Better Call Saul, I've been hankering for some mega crispy and juicy friend chicken. Not that KFC bullshit, I mean CRUNCHY and juicy crispy fried chicken.

I live in the Newmarket area so the closer the better. Thank you soo soo much in advance for your help.

I'm from Kentucky and have yet to find any fried chicken in NH that makes my tongue slap my forehead. Your best bet is making it yourself honestly

The worst KFC I've ever had was in Kentucky, sadly NH food is pretty blah.😂 Maybe they just had an off day, but I Definitely agree with trying to make your own. 👍🏾

KFC anywhere is pretty bad. But you can find some damnnnn good fried chicken in Kentucky. The fried seafood up here makes up for the lack of tasty fried chicken though

You gotta try the Krispy krunchy chicken. You'll be pleased

Is the fried chicken place in the Newfields shell station still open? If so, then that

vincentvandog t1_iya34m1 wrote

Yes the chicken place in the Shell station is hands down the best around! Just wish they had mashed potatoes!!

I haven't found much in NH (unless you are OK with gas station Chester Fried Chicken)

If you find yourself in MA then Bonchon is excellent (Korean double-fried chicken). Flip the Bird has great fried chicken sandwiches too.

cerryl66 t1_iy9p96r wrote

There is a bonchon in Nashua now too

THIS is the way. Greatest twice fried spicy (or soy/garlic) chicken I have ever had.

ralettar t1_iy9yrkt wrote

Oh wow. That’s something I needed to hear.

God, yesssss. Flip the bird anywhere.

Chicken Connection in Plaistow. Awesome chicken and great side dishes!

  • BonChon (Nashua): Korean-style fried chicken. Very crispy. I personally love the hot & soy garlic flavors, but you can get it plain if you like.

  • TKK Fried Chicken (Nashua): The spicy crunchy flavor is what you want.

  • USA Chicken & Biscuit (Manchester): The most “classic” option on this list. They’re also opening a location in Nashua.

The Shell station just over the bridge into Newfields. NOT the Chesters, it's on the other side of town. Their fried chicken is fantastic

Gas Station Chicken is the BEST. And still a good buy. Did you not know about it before? Like it's on your doorstep...

Sonny’s in Dover have fantastic and crunchy chicken tenders.

The shell station on the Newfield/Newmarket town line has some good fried chicken. Not super crunchy, but great price and good flavor.

Sweet chix was meh, and more meh because it’s $$$ and portions were small. It was crispy though.

The fried chicken sandwiches at Hop n Grind in Durham are fun with lots of variety.

los-gokillas t1_iycn7qz wrote

You want sweet chix on route one in north Hampton. The chicken is banging

All the fried chicken I've found since I've moved here has been wack. KFC and even Popeyes has gone downhill too. The Best tasting fried chicken I've had here has been from Krispy crunchy chicken, kinda sad you gotta go to a gas station to get good chicken lol

deltapapa1 t1_iyc94hf wrote

There’s a Popeyes coming to Concord in the Spring.

I’ll second Georgia’s Northside in Concord. When he has it, it’s excellent.

Also, I enjoy the Hannaford fried chicken when they have it and you pick it up fresh.

ElisabetSobeckPhD t1_iy9u1m0 wrote

It's not straight up fried chicken, but the hot honey fried chicken at Sonny's in Dover is delicious.

There was a Chester's Chicken in the gas station heading towards Durham on 108 out of Newmarket. it's flipped hands a bunch, and not sure if the chicken offerings are still there, but it was a nice place to satisfy the fried chicken craving. THat gas station used to have Mediterranean food (the doner kabob's were amazing), but alas, that's gone.

Does

The Wilder in Portsmouth has some of the best fried chicken I've ever had. Really cool place too. They used to serve their fried chicken dinner in a comically large bucket which always attracted looks as it seems ridiculous in that setting. I haven't been there in a hot minute though because they changed head chefs a few months back and their menu got all snooty and expensive. Looks like the fried chicken is still on there.

USA chicken and biscuits in Manchester is the best I’ve had. I’m from the south and had been looking for good fried chicken when I moved here. I randomly went into this place. It had a very diverse customer base inside eating so I knew there was a good chance it was good. It is !! The biscuits aren’t that great , but the fried chicken is yummy and crisp. Bonus points for the hot sauce packets they have that you won’t see anywhere else. I forgot the name , but good hot sauce for chicken if you’re into that.

Yahso Jamaican in Keene has some amazing fried chicken. Not near Newmarket tho.

Having ordered from them recently, they are tasty as fuck. But their issue is the small portions for the prices they charge.
