Anyone have suggestions for where to find a decent selection of cut your own blue spruce or concolor fir Christmas trees? Seems like all the southern nh farms have traditional firs. Thanks!

I worked at a nursery for many years. I don’t understand why people would want a blue spruce.

Based on the people in my life that like blue spruce, they like the color and that they have stiff branches that hold ornaments well. Some other trees have branches that droop when you put on heavy ornaments.

I don't like them for my house (the needles are too painful) but I understand why others like them.

I'm growing one to use as a living outside Christmas tree, and personally for me it's 100% the color.

Most likely it's either because they prefer the look of them or it's what they have traditionally had as a Christmas tree. For me, anything other than a Douglas fir is just not a real Christmas tree, since that's what we always had when I was growing up (except one year when we had a Scots pine when that was all that was available).

Tonry Christmas Tree Farm in Hampton Falls typically has a good selection.

I believe Paradise Farm in Lyndeborough has cut your own blue spruce. Call ahead to be sure.
