I'm at a hunting camp. Out of state. All legally acquired and tagged. I just don't want to waste these hides.i have 14 of them. Anybody tan? I'll bring them to you.

EDIT: These are RAW hides. Fat and all. I'm getting the sense people are unaware of that. These aren't prepared. They will dry up and crack on you, because they haven't been tanned! Tanning is the craft of Hyde and leather manufacturing. No disrespect.

DM me if interested.

Honestly, this is really nice. I got no use for deer bits, but it's great to see them given away freely to people that can use em.

It's also dope to see people offering trades of home goods for them. Warms the soul. Barter is a dying act in this society.

NY. CWD hasn't been reported if I'm not mistaken.

This is from the NHFG website: "New York is no longer considered a CWD-positive jurisdiction by New Hampshire. However, New York-killed deer still may not be transported through Massachusetts or Vermont. As a consequence, New Hampshire Fish and Game recommends that hunters continue the past practice of deboning New York deer."

There was never a prohibition on hides in NH, but I don't know about current laws in MA or VT.

You can ask the local Native tribe (Abenaki), if they want some.

Contacts? Or was that a racist joke?

I don't want to give out personal names, but here is the contact for the chief of the tribe.

The headquarters are in Vermont, but the tribe extends into New Hampshire. I'm sure he can help you out there.

I can also ask someone in NH if they are willing to talk with you, if you would like.

The hell you mean illegal? I've been buying venison from a couple farms all over the state

Buying farmed venison from a farm is not illegal to do. Buying wild venison though is illegal. The only parts you can sell on a wild deer are head, hide and feet, this is all in the F&G Code.

Is it illegal to donate wild venison to homeless shelters? I was thinking about doing this if I got into hunting.

wojtekthesoldierbear t1_ixcm4j0 wrote

  1. Yes, but it has to be processed through a wild game processor.

  2. You'll never do it

jreddit37 t1_ixcmu0b wrote

Why number 2?

wojtekthesoldierbear t1_ixcndpq wrote

Because of the amount of money and time you'll blow to bag a deer and then you have to pay the processor, chances are you won't. This isnt Virginia or Martha's Vineyard, its much harder.
