XC skiing right now, preferably backcountry?

So I'm getting back into nordic skiing (fuck lift tickets) and wondering where the best conditions are right now. I'm in Manchester for reference, so driving 2.5 hours to Jackson isn't really happening anytime soon.

Very interested in some loops in the Pemi Wilderness... Any info on snow coverage? Access via Kancamagus is easiest for me, but is there better snow in the north (Zealand Campground)?

Also wondering about Green Woodlands... Have yet to bike there but heard they switch to skiing in the winter. But is it skiable?

Any resources for conditions in the lowlands up north are also welcome... Mountain forecasts are great for my other activities, but I gotta get there!

Adding to it, Gunstock, Bretton Woods, and Weston Ski Track (MA) have XC centers. Lincoln Woods is a popular spot too. I like Great Brook Farm in Carlisle, MA on the rare occasion they have enough snow to operate.

Fuck climate change. Really making it impossible to run an XC ski center outside of the North Country. We get a bit of natural snow, then it pisses hot rain for a week. Ugh.

To piggy back on those three mountains, Gunstock has excellent snow making even on their Nordic trails and allows uphill travel in the mornings on three different trails to the summit for a $135 annual pass if anyone skins/split boards or snowshoes.

Check a map out and hit some forest service roads in and around the WMNF. The snowmobiles are like a free groomer, and they are often a nice pitch and scenic. Sawyer river, town hall road, and 113 through Evans are some of my personal favorites. Just got done skiing 113 actually

Go to the UNH trail, Oliverian brook trailhead. There is about 2 feet of snow. The rain hammered,but under the crust is powder. Across the river the NAN is amazing. Swift is high, so park on bear notch Rd trailhead .. ski west, toward church pond... heavenly
