Anybody ski lately?

After getting back into skiing a few years ago, and as part of my mental health improvement plan*, I enacted an action item by buying a ski pass (Epic pass)... so I'm itching to finally start my skiing season. I've blocked out thursdays to ski... and it seems the past few wednesdays have been purposefully rainy to thwart my plans.
I know there is only one route open at most Epic pass mountains... but has anybody been out and have an opinion (Wildcat, Attitash or Sunapee specifically) on whether it's worth it to scratch my itch. I live near UNH, so I'm looking at a 2-4 hour round trip mountain dependent.

*my MHIP includes going part time last July, fishing a ton, trying my hand at setting some lobster traps out, buying a ski pass, and finally using my recently passed fishing guide license next spring.

Edit: I went to Sunapee... Skies 4 runs on the only route down. Itch scratched. Then went home and went for a mountain bike ride. Can 50 year olds shotgun code red mountain dew like this? Yes. We can.

Wouldn't know because I'm not about the 2+ hour drives for early season-one-route-open skiing, but that's just me.

Another suggestion for winter recreation around here: cross country skiing. It's a little less social and not as fun as alpine skiing, but it's still fun, good exercise, gets you out of the house in the winter, free after investing a couple hundred for the skis and boots, and you can do it locally. Doe Farms is great for it if/when the lamprey freezes over enough to go out on, that's right by UNH. Haven't done skiing at Vaughan Woods, but it's also not far and the trails there would be perfect. Or during our big storms, before the sidewalks are cleared you can go right outside your door.

Hey I've made the two hour round trip to Sunapee two weekends in a row now. Although there is only one way down the mountain the snow they made is actually very nice and ski-able. Much better than I was expecting. If you like skiing I think it is worth it.

Sister in law went to Breton woods on Monday. Said it was decent for this time of year. I drove by attitash on Monday and it looked barren and definitely not worth you making a 2-4 hour round trip. Hope this helps

I've got a Cannon pass and I'm not feeling the urge to ski one route...it's only a 2hr round trip, but I don't know that I'll enjoy as many hours of skiing just a single route...

Wildcat and attitash aren’t the best. I would choose attitash over wildcat but sunapee over all of them

I've been skiing in New England for 26 years.

I've heard that Pat's Peak is open. I don't like Wildcat. It tends to get blown raw and turn into boilerplate.

I've got the IKON.

I've heard that VT should have a very snowy winter but I've learned to take that with a grain of salt.

I think Loon is 2 hours away from UNH? Dunno if they're open. I don't know your skill level, but if you go past the kanc8 or whatever they call it and go to the beginner slope in front of the restaurant there's a chair that services greens and a blue that's wide and quick, sometimes it's just worth skiing the same trail over and over depending on the lift lines.

My dad works at sunapee we go every year. I have been going for as long as I can remember.
