I often think that there are phrases that all WMUR meteorologists are required to say.

I’ve turned it into a drinking game:

Secret Phrases that require a shot: “Out and about” “Great North Woods”

Whenever a meteorologist uses a phrase like “this afternoon” or “this evening” followed by enumerating the hours, ie “snow starting this afternoon in the 1,2,3,4 PM window” do a shot because it’s redundant.

This is not meant to be any slam against the WMUR team - they all do a great job. I just think the phrases are funny.

You are guaranteed to at least have a buzz after the forecast.

Mount Wash getting a mention. Two shots if it’s colder than Saranac Lake / Lake Placid.

I loved Eric Weglarz sooo much, but I absolutely hated how he always said “nothing doing”

Haha as somebody who does this kind of thing for a living we all have our crutches that some of us try to work on. Especially in a breaking news situation, if you're just going off the top of your head those are hard to think about while you're just trying to give information.

I love when WMUR weather uses the phrase “In the Monadnock region”.

That must be a game you play in the evenings because I played this morning and I’m trashed.
