Keep your drones out of the WMNF weirdo

Ah, yes. Thank you for bringing this up.

First, here is a link to the WMNF page with the document that governs recreational drone usage.

https://www.fs.usda.gov/detail/whitemountain/home/?cid=FSEPRD612188

If you're not willing to open the pdf and do a little research, it basically says drones are allowed pretty much anywhere that you can legally back-country camp, or legally start a fire, with the biggest exception being wilderness areas. There are a few other smaller exceptions, but that covers 90% of the WMNF.

So stop making up your own rules that you expect other people to follow just because you don't like their hobby, weirdo.

Second, this wasn't even taken in the WMNF, so maybe lay off on the Internet policing when you don't have all the information.

But if you're so concerned about it, here is the WMNF page with the document that governs drone usage in the WMNF. You should probably read it to find out what is actually legal.

people are annoyed because the majority a lot of drone users dgaf about rules.

multiple times just in the last few months I've seen people flying drones directly in front of the no drones signs on the Kanc.

Right, and I absolutely understand a appreciate that sentiment, but attacking one dude on the internet who can immediately provide proof that he wasn't breaking any rules is not an effective solution, nor is it a good look.

Nothing is going to change until the WMNF rangers actually do something about people who don't follow the rules.

I, however, have the map that I posted the link to, downloaded on my phone, and reference it any time I go anywhere near the WMNF, just to make sure I'm not that guy. Also I generally don't fly my drone around people anyway, and if I do, I always ask first, and no one has told me to fuck off yet, especially if I offer to take their picture and email it to them.

Curious. Why are there no drone zones? Is it because of potential loss/crashing of drone someplace unaccessible?

pretty sure it's just because they are super annoying and also disturb wildlife.

same reason you can't ride dirt bikes or snowmobiles not in designated areas.

Just because something is legal doesn't mean it should be happening.

Haha. Just because you don't think it should be happening doesn't mean I care (or the WMNF cares) what you think.

Were you standing right there on the bank of the Ellis river with me yesterday to be "annoyed" by the sound my drone over the sounds of all the vehicles on rt 16? Nope.

Find something else to bitch about.
