The Common Man Inn in Plymouth. It has cozy rooms and spa where you can get all sort of relaxing things like massages, facials, pedicures, etc. It's has a pool with an awesome waterfall.

The Mountain View Grand Resort and SPA is EXACTLY what you’re looking for.

100% this.

I took my fiancee up there for her birthday years ago and she absolutely loved it. Got a haircut in the tower iirc.

I had a good time too, but my meal had pearl onions and I hate them.

That's stuck with me for like 7 years lol

Winter hotel spot during holiday? Downtown Portsmouth. Not on the circle or Rte. 1, either.

I like walking through the town, especially at Christmas.

Lol the red jacket is the opposite place I’d suggest if you are looking for cozy & quiet down time. Kids up the wazoo.

I’d look at the Notchland Inn in Hart’s Location. From there you can go splurge on spa treatments (Debony Salon in Jackson, or there’s a foot soak place in North Conway). I’m sure Portsmouth would be lovely if you wanted something more walkable for amenities, though!
