You have no idea how intoxicated either of these people were.

Bit of a red herring. This fact still stands with or without the shooting.

What fact? Everything started so far has been opinion. Not a red herring at all.

You are saying it the GOAT's fault and it's absolutely not their fault someone was murdered outside. I've never been there and never plan to. It's on the person that pulled the trigger and no one else. That said, if they over serve, they should be subject to the consequences for over serving.

Go watch the video, the shooter is clearly drunk. This is no different than a bar over serving and a person getting in a vehicle and killing someone. The shooter could have walked away from the fight or maybe just threw a punch. Just like a dui driver could have called a cab. Alcohol effects your judgment and it is a business, management, and bartenders duty not to over serve patrons.

CDogNH t1_j6bg1b7 wrote

Nope. The bar is not responsible for the murder.

You’ve clearly never worked in a bar run by responsible people. What OP is saying is very true and is often a concern for bartenders. I was one for 20 years, all over the country, and looking out for the well-being of the dumb dumbs on the other side of the bar is part of the gig. You saw that video where the employees pushed everyone outside? That’s a no no. You have to separate the shitbags. If that dude was solo, he goes for a short walk with a bouncer while the bouncer pretends to give a shit about what he’s upset about. Someone else does the same but stays inside with the other crew. This is the basics. You don’t want a brawl out front of your bar, and you definitely don’t want a shooting. Even if you’re not legally liable, you don’t want that reputation unless the establishment is also run by shitbags that behave this way 🤷‍♂️

Murder and DUI are quite different. I have worked in a bar run by responsible people. Legally is the issue at hand so you do understand it's not on them.

The shooter could have been drunk or been doing drugs or a combination of both.

Might as well blame the gun manufacturer and Santa Clause at this point.

Creating a gathering place for shitheads should incur some liability too.

Here comes the Monday Morning quarterbacks.

Blame it on the person carrying a gun and doing the drinking. He’s an adult.

isn't it illegal to drink while armed?

Serious-Barracuda-13 t1_j6ams55 wrote

Varies by state. But it’s legal in NH.

A small amount of states have a zero tolerance policy, where you can’t consume alcohol while in possession of a firearm. A large amount of states have a “legally intoxicated” policy/statute, where they define when someone is legally intoxicated and makes it illegal to be in possession at the time. And then another large amount of states don’t address it.

It's not the bars fault, it's not the guns fault. Lets put the blame on the person who decided to shoot.

Drynk over served people. Whiskeys over served people. Whiskeys20 over served people. Manchvegas over served people. Maybe it isn't the bar specifically, it's the folks who go to those bars that can't keep their shit in check.

Greatest Of All Time. Commonly known as Tom Brady(who should have retired after his last SB).

In this instance, it is a bar in downtown Manchester named after said GOAT.

It’s just a bar. It’s not named after TB. And, the original Goat in Hampton is 100 times better then the Manch location. But that’s because it’s Manchester….

The goat is also where you go after you've already had a few. Highly doubt anyone is sober walking in the door.

Bringing a gun where alcohol is served should be illegal. It is very irresponsible. NH really needs to relook at this. I've a weapon, i strongly believe in the second amendment with proper screening/background checks.

Yeah but that’s a really poor argument. I’ve been to numerous establishments that get their patrons nice and drunk and no one’s ever been shot. I’ve never even seen a fight. 100% of the blame is to be placed on the man who shot another man in the face multiple times out of pride and untamed aggression.
