I find it a little ridiculous that power outages are such a common thing around winter storms. You'd think the electrical grid would be built to withstand the normal climate it's being built in. This can't be an impossible problem to solve.

Power lines on poles and trees that fall on them seems to be the problem. Only solution is to bury the lines, but that is a lot more expensive.

Expensive in the short term. Cost effective in the long term. But they can fix the power outage and use that as an excuse to raise rates every year. Utilities, like healthcare, should not be a for profit business.
