Taking a weekend trip to Portsmouth this weekend. Looking to take my girlfriend to a good restaurant for cocktails on Saturday night. What are your favorite places? We’ve only been to The Goat and Cafe Mediterraneo.

Also would love recommendations for things to do in the area. We’re two girls in our mid 20’s that like music, food/drinks, nature, animals, science, etc. (Thinking about visiting Flag Hill Winery in Lee for an afternoon. Hope it’s good!)

I heard drinks at The Library are great. Haven’t been yet though, but that came from a very good source.

Surf is nice. Watch people roll sushi and have a couple of painkillas. Nice view of the bridge from the dining room too.

The best spot for cocktails in the area is over the bridge in Kittery at The Wallingford Dram.

Massimo’s for both cocktails and dinner, but if dinner is somewhere else, still go there. Or vice versa. Rooftop at the Envio is great for cocktails also.

flag hill: not worth the trouble, shitty wine, run by fools, and not-distilled-there liquor imported from elsewehre. just go to some of the breweries in portsmouth, a far better experience. Liar's bench, or Earth Eagle are good choices.

The wilder in portsmouth or the Wallingford dram in Kittery have the best cocktails. I'm pretty sure they're owned by the same people.

For things to do there is ice skating at strawberry banke, maybe live music at the press room, karaoke at Daniel's street, pool and darts at legends. The music hall might have something good going on. I'd check some local events websites and look around. There's always something going on. Just last weekend there was a great steely dan cover band in Kittery so who knows

Agree with the Dram. Tiny, so if you can't get in? The Wilder (same owners)... be forewarned it's a magnet for hipsters but if that doesn't bother you, great drinks and the food is underrated for this town

Lived in Portsmouth for a couple of years. The most underrated spot for cocktails is The Kitchen in the West End. Hands down the best, IMO.

Raleigh Wine Bar has wonderful cocktails in an elegant (but not stuffy) space. Follow it up with a nitro espresso martini at The Wilder!
